Eat Right!

Is Your Diet Meeting Your Health Needs?

Moving into March we transition into a new health observation of the month to take account of. The initiative of being aware of each monthly health observation is a good way to keep up with your health and wellness too.

Is Your Diet Meeting Your Health Needs?

March is for Nutrition Awareness

National Nutrition Month® started in 1973 as National Nutrition Week and became a month-long observance in 1980 in response to the growing interest in nutrition. Every March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics sponsors National Nutrition Month®  to focus on assisting people in making informed food choices and developing positive eating habits.  More focus is needed on these efforts since recent statistics show that nearly 74% of Americans are obese. Many people face obstacles in accessing healthy food, which can be due to financial constraints, mobility issues, or a lack of nearby grocery stores with healthy options. Join us in celebrating National Nutrition Month®  by exploring various nutrition ideas such as hosting a healthy cooking workshop to assisting in organizing a food drive. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of many people in your local community.
